More than 100 artists and collectives from 10 countries of the world submitted their applications for participation in Jazz Across Borders (JAB), international forum&festival, which will be held on November 17 and 18, 2017 within the 6th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, at St Petersburg Stare Academic Chapel.
The international expert jury, which included the president of Justjazz agency Catherine Mayer, founder and head of Ina Dittke & Associates Ina Dittke, People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Moscow Jazz Orchestra, President of JAB forum & festival Igor Butman, Russian trumpeter, band leader, teacher, and TV presenter Vadim Eilenkrig, editor-in-chief of Jazz.Ru Cyril Moshkow and CEO of Esse jazz club Grant Khanjyan, has been considering applications for three days and have selected 12 winners.

Due to the large number of applications, the JAB Organizing Committee decided to provide the band that did not get into the main program of the showcase festival to participate in the JAB Club Night program. The list of participants will be announced later. JAB CLubnight will be held at St Petersburg jazz clubs: Dom 7, The Hat Bar, 48 chairs, and JFC.
Jazz Across Borders Forum & Festival will be the first professional Russian platform in the history of Russia designed for meetings of representatives of the international and Russian jazz communities. One of the parts of the program of the forthcoming forum & festival will be the showcase festival of domestic and foreign jazz performers, which will provide them with an opportunity to show their music to a wide range of music industry professionals: promoters, program directors of festivals and clubs, representatives of labels, and journalists.
