Håkan Broström is one of Sweden’s top names in jazz. He has played with some of the biggest names on the scene. Håkan Broström has toured and played as a band leader and sideman with among others Tim Hagans, Bobo Stenson, Joey Calderazzo, Palle Danielsson, Esbjörn Svensson, Ulf Wakenius and Jeff “Tain” Watts.

Carl Winther is known as one of Denmark’s best piano players. Son of the world famous composer and trumpet player, Jens Winther, he started touring at an early age. The Award Winning vituoso, has been performing with the likes of Billy Hart, Jerry Bergonzi, Bill Evans,, Daniel Humiar, Adam Nussbaum, James Genus, Till Broenner, Markus Strickland, Dick Oats, Dejan Terzic, Eliel Lazo, Moussa Diallo, Mads Vinding, Hugo Rasmussen, Mikkel Nords, Al Campos, Tomas Franck, Doug Raney, Frederik Kronkvist, and Afonso Corea, to name some. His performance is breathtaking and virtuous.

He has a fluent ability to improvise He is an educated Jazz and Classic musicians, with a true love for Latin and African rhythms. His own composition are inspired by all this, and also includes the funky styles of Herbie Hancock’s 70s music and avangardistic ideas. Winther has been awarded for his precise and extravagant compositions and his amazing performance skills.

I really love the vibe we created on the album. It has a live atmosphere, although it was a 100 % studio recording. Carl Winther Trio has a very high potential in playing hard-driving wild jazz but can also sound super sweet on a ballad. Right now, I am about to release an album with my big band, ”New Places Orchestra.” I just have to do the mastering and decide about the album cover. In a way, you can say that they selected me. I was invited by the drummer, Anders Mogensen, to play at Odense Jazz Festival in Denmark. Anders had also booked a studio In Copenhagen the next day. We recorded something like 16-17 numbers in 4-5 hours, – an interview with me said Håkan Broström.
