BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Jazz Musician 2024 – entries open now! – Photos

BBC Radio Scotland is again supporting Scotland’s emerging jazz talent through its Young Jazz Musician award, run in association with the Glasgow Jazz Festival.

Returning for a second year after pianist Ben Shankland’s win in 2023, the award is intended to encourage and highlight the wealth of talent in Scotland’s vibrant jazz scene. It sits alongside BBC Radio Scotland’s awards for Young Trad and Young Classical musicians, as well as BBC Introducing’s search for the best in contemporary music.

Hosted by award-winning violinist, composer and vocalist Seonaid Aitken (pictured above), the finals of the award will be held at BBC Scotland’s Pacific Quay HQ in Glasgow on Sunday 24 November in front of a live audience and will broadcast across the nation on BBC Radio Scotland.
