Live review: The night was filled with emotional anthems, a passionate crowd, and moments that created many memories at Rams Head Live! – Photos

The Used stopped to perform at Rams Head Live!

At this particular stop they had support from Amira Elfeky and Story of the Year. It was a hot, sweaty, and packed show that The Used absolutely destroyed. The entire concert was a night for emos of all ages to remember!

The whole concert was a spectacle. The night started with Amira Elfeky performing a tight 8 song set to get the crowd moving. As they performed, more people started showing up and moving to their music. Story of the Year performed next and truly got the crowd warmed up. They are an entertaining band with endless energy that easily transfers to the audience! The members of Story of the Year are constantly running around the stage, jumping off set pieces, and always joking around with each other.

The Used took the stage after a haunting version of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” that really set the stage for the night. The night was filled with emotional anthems, a passionate crowd, and moments that created many memories. The Used started their set with “Pretty Handsome Awkward,” “Say Days Ago,” “Buried Myself Alive,” and “Let it Bleed.” As each song progressed, the crowd’s energy ramped up and the air became hot and thick. There is always something special when a show is intimate while being hot and sweaty.

While watching The Used perform, their was an electricity in the air. Each band member brought a unique stage presence that added immensely to the night. Jeph Howard (Bass) flowed around the stage adding flair and unclean vocals to the songs. Joey Bradford (Guitar) consistently was flipping his hair while playing catchy riffs. Audience members hung on Bert McCracken’s every word as he belted the songs. He constantly got more energy from the crowd and they couldn’t contain it as they were crowd surfing up to the front. McKracken undeniably knows how to work a crowd.

The Used performed a 20 song set that included a 3 song encore. They played songs that encompassed their catalogue with hits that include “Take it Away,” “Listening,” “MEDZ,” “I Caught Fire,” “All That I’ve Got,” and my personal favorite “The Taste of Ink.” Concertgoers of all ages enjoyed this show.

One of my favorite moments is what I am going to call Shakespeare and Circle Pits. McCracken called for a giant circle pit while reciting a passage from Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.” This was used as an introduction to the song “Blood on My Hands.” That circle did not stop until way after the song was done!

If you ever get a chance, I highly recommend seeing The Used live. They put on a fantastic show filled with their hits, many emotions, and non-stop energy. Below are more images of The Used performing at Rams Head Live! in Baltimore, MD.
